Bugaboo Covers

I first met the brand Bugaboo in 2010 when I was pregnant with my first child. I loved this stroller from the beginning, and what to say about its ability to adapt different covers...

In this matter there is one star shining the most:

Marta is the designer of this brand since 2006, when she started manufacturing with her mum the covers for her own Bugaboo.
In this time, she must have created hundreds of covers, each one of them special and different from the others, as you can check in her website plenty of quality images.

Some of her designs are the sweetest I ever saw. And the way she combines fabrics, laces and adorable details can make you feel, when visiting her site, like floating in a dream...

She started a trend, and covers are now on every baby shop, but her credit goes far beyond that. She has remained as the most original and elegant from all the others. Nothing can compare Baby Luna's finishings.

Prepare yourself though, because her waiting list is big and it can take months until you receive her art piece. And then, surely you won't regret the wait.

5 Tips to Dress a Baby Girl.

After almost 3 years in the business of children fashion I have met an important amount of parents, bumps and babies who are now preschoolers!

In this time I have realized some parents really love dressing their kids and take it very seriously, as some others find it is a necessary thing to do and try to make it as practical as possible. I have to admit that I do share a bit of both kinds. I love dressing up my daughter in fun, little outfits and I don't miss the chances as I know she won't let me do choose her outlooks forever. And there are this other days when we need quick, practical and basic items to move on.

Since I have received many enquiries on how to style little girls I have decided to write down this general tips I always give and publish it. Hope it inspires some moments in dressing your baby girls.

1. Bigger better than Smaller.

If you hesitate when purchasing the size, always go for the bigger from those you are considering. Babies grow fast and some dresses can become tops in the future, for example.

2. Keep in mind you baby's body.

As some babies develop super cute chunky legs, others (like mine) have skinny "chicken" legs. Same as with adults, you want to now what kind of garments fit better in your baby's body.

3. Be creative and open minded.

There are pink lovers, blue lovers, more traditional or modern styles lovers. There are parents who have very clear how they like their kids to be dressed. My suggestion is the opposite, you might be gratefully surprised when you see your little one on one of this looks, or colors you thought before you didn't like. Play with different options and patterns to discover new ways to dress your little ones.

4. Leave pajamas at home.

Cotton pajamas are a must in all babies wardrobe but again, same as adults, babies should be dressed for going out.

5. Let babies look like babies.

I have seen little things as pure as a baby wearing white or light colors. Some shrunk down version of adult clothes can be cute on a toddler, maybe. But same as I don't wear the same clothes now as I used to wear as a teenager, children, specially babies deserve their time to look as cute as possible!

What do I need for my first baby?

This can be a very common question amongst first time parents all over the world and each culture surely will have a different answer. But here is our recommendations for the first days.
Your baby will spend this first months sleeping, eating and pooping. A newborn needs an average of 8 to 10 nappy changes each day. Having this said, you want to have a wide range of easy to wash comfy cotton onesies, bodysuits, baby grows, overalls...
Your baby is also going to get the atention of everybody around so make sure you also have at least 4 or 5 more dressed up options for family or friends presentations as well as for taking a few nice photo shoots (you will appreciate in the future having done this at least once a month and don't hesitate to ask for a good photographer recommendation).
Little baby list of items you want to have when the baby arrives:

Sew With Me! Baby Romper or Dress...

Would you like to sew your own baby garments?
Many mums have asked me to teach them how to do their own baby clothes. As I am still learning a lot every day I don't like the word teach, but I have an idea that can make all of us happy.
First, we all pick a date, pattern and fabric. After I’ll cut fabrics and prepare the materials that are going to be needed. Then we’ll sew it all together at my place one day, in two hours. Bring your sewing machine if you have one, if not I'll be happy to share mines. You'll have me there to ask me questions if you get stuck and, when it’s all done we each have a pretty, finished garment to take home! The great part is that there’s a few of us doing it together. Two (or three or four) sewing minds are better than one!
For the first meeting I have this two suggestions for us to make, they are my best sellers. Prices include materials, instructions and soft drinks!
A Baby romper, it can be made on sizes from 3 to 24 months. Price AED 150

Or this Baby Dress with ribbon and lace. Sizes from 0 to 24 months. Price 220

So... what do you say? Do you want to "Sew With Me"?

Daddy designed nursery room.

While surfing on the net looking for information about nursery rooms for a new post that I wanted to write I have found this nursery room designed by... a dad! Nothing further from my intention than begin an argument about the roles of each gender, I just loved the idea of dad being the one worried about the color of the walls, the matching printings of the crib sheets, he even chose a glider chair!! If you are as surprised as me keep reading, I promise you won't be defrauded...

The masculine touch is at first sight. Functional, sophisticated, defined by his creator as a nursery room for adults. But leaving some space for a few cute lovely details as the family tree on the wall and it's orange birds, or the green cushion that, together with the orange lamp and curtains, bring joy and a charming atmosphere to a fully flat grey painted room.

I only hope that this very big and open basket is not planned as the place for dirty clothes or used nappies... If it is, believe me, it's a bad idea!
